The Who to Tour Again; Keith Moon Wants to Die All Over Again.
December 27th, 2005 by Chad
What the hell is up with this craziness…. The damn Who is gonna tour AGAIN in 2006. Why? WWWHHHYYYY???
via RollingStone.com:
“I don’t want to stop, and I don’t think Pete does,” frontman Roger Daltrey told Rolling Stone in the fall.
I mean, why? They should have stopped in ‘78 after Keith Moon died. I like subsequent Who drummers Simon Phillips and Zak Starkey, but for God’s sake, man, give it a rest already… There is no Who without Keith. Not only did they not give up after Moon died, they pretty much ignored the fact that John Entwistle passed on, and they continued to tour. Craziness, I tell you.
As long as Pete and Roger want to play music together on stage in front of a live audience, they should be able to do it. They earned that right by being two of the greatest rock performers in history and plenty of us will go to hear those great songs live all over again.
I love the Who. Let me make that perfectly clear. And sure, it’s well within their right to tour, but as I’ve mentioned elsewhere, what would happen if Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr would go out on tour as the Beatles? Is nothing sacred?
