Man, what is up with all these unoriginal movies that are either based off old ideas, old TV shows, or are really bad remakes of another movie? Why does Hollywood think we are going to appreciate a movie like “The Honeymooners?” I mean, Did “Fat Albert” make for a good film? NO. What about Scooby-Doo? Enough people thought it was good enough to merit a friggin’ SEQUEL?!?! Has today’s society dumbed-down so much that a large amount of people will go and see “Miss Congeniality 2: Armed and Fabulous?” And, WHY ON GOD’S GREEN EARTH are they remaking “House of Wax?????” Don’t even get me started on “The Dukes of Hazzard“… Another “Herbie” movie? Oh hell… Somebody get my shotgun…

There just aren’t enough really good movies these days. The ones I mentioned above may do/have done well at the box office, but really, will they be/were they that good? NO. The almighty dollar wins again. I am looking forward to the following films, though:

  • The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy - I remember reading this book as a kid, always wondering what a movie version would be like. The more I hear about this one, the less I can wait to see it.
  • Star Wars: Episode III - I, like so many other fans of the series are REALLY REALLY hoping this one doesn’t suck. The trailers look absolutely… promising. Don’t let us down again, George…
  • The Amityville Horror - I really didn’t like the original too much. I thought it could’ve been much better. Maybe this remake will make better use of the story, without being as borderline cheesy as the original was.
  • War of the Worlds - My head tells me this one has real potential to suck-ass, but my heart is really pulling for it to be good. It’s a Spielberg joint, so it can potentially be good or really bad.
